A longtime friend of Tony Stark, James Rhodes has seen it all: the military, security firms, supervillians... and once, donning the invincible Iron Man armor in Stark's place, Rhodes even became his own hero. Now, accepting the position of Security Chief for the super-powered prison facility The Vault, Rhodes hopes to fully emerge from Stark's shadow.

A note from the editor - Originally this series ran for a full thirteen issues, all written by D. Golightly. The second arc featured a Murderworld being constructed in The Vault's basement by the villain Arcade, who had been masquerading as the warden. Arcade was sent to The Vault to kill Rhodes, and attempted to do so in his unique fashion. A few one-shot spotlight issues highlighted other inmates like The Walrus and Deacon Frost. The third arc focused on Rhodes being joined by John Jameson and Valerie Cooper to form a new Jury as they hunted down escapees.
Unfortunately, the story got away from the writer and the series was shelved without being completed. Eventually, the plan was to have Octavius assist Rhodes in revealing the mastermind behind who was trying to kill him (it was Ezekiel Stane). Nightmare was also going to be revealed as torturing inmates in their sleep to increase his power enough to escape from a confinement that Dr. Strange has placed him within.
While the concepts of a hidden Murderworld, a new Jury, Octavius assisting Rhodes, and Nightmare terrorizing prisoners are fun, ultimately they weren't a good fit for the series. Therefore, the decision was made to pull The Vault #7-13 from M2K continuity. If you come across footnotes elsewhere either at the site or on the message board...well, consider those lost treasures.
